DESCRIPTION:A course focused on the principles of effective treatment for substance use disorders (SUDs). \n\n\n\nThis course will familiarize participants with SAMHSA’s Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) addiction resources and afford the participant opportunities to examine several addiction EBPs and assess the clinical application of these EBPs. \n\n\n\nLEARNING OBJECTIVES \n\n\n\n• Understand the definition of evidence-based practices \n\n\n\n• Explore the differences between evidence-based practices and emerging practices \n\n\n\n• Gain knowledge in the area of pharmacotherapy and medication assisted treatment \n\n\n\n• Explore current evidence-based practices utilized in substance use disorder treatment programs \n\n\n\nCEU Information: \n\n\n\nThis course provides 6 CEU’s. DESCRIPTION:This course is a private training for DMHA invited participants only. It is not open to the public. \n\n\n\nThis is a private event held for DMHA and will not be open for public registration \n\n\n\nThis three-day interactive training provides participants with a detailed understanding of medication used to assist with substance use disorders. \n\n\n\n35 hours of distance (on-line) learning is a component of this course that is provided with admission purchase. It is highly encouraged this distance learning be completed prior to the ‘live’ training. Information on how to begin the distance learning will be e-mailed to the participant within 2-weeks of registration. Be sure to watch for this to be sent to your registration email as your email system may place it in your junk/spam when it is received. \n\n\n\nLearning Objectives: \n\n\n\n\nBecome familiar with the primary medications associated with the treatment of substance use disorder\n\n\n\nDevelop an understanding of the role that medication can play in an individual’s recovery process from substance use disorder\n\n\n\nIncrease ability to use treatment matching principles for individuals in recovery from substance use disorders\n\n\n\nBecome familiar with a variety of recovery supports available to individuals’ entering recovery from substance use disorders\n\n\n\nProvide an overview of professional responsibilities in providing medication assisted treatment\n\n\n\nDevelop a connection with other professionals working in the medication assisted treatment community\n\n\n\n\nThis course provides 6 CEU’s for all who complete the course. CEU’s are provided pursuant to Indiana Administrative Code 839IAC 1-6-2(F)(86). \n\n\n\nThis training is required for the ICAADA MATS credential\, however a person can attend and not obtain the credential.
